Question 1

How much gravel is needed?

Accepted Answer

Start with the space you are covering and the depth you plan to install. A general estimate is 100 square feet per ton at a 2-inch depth. A driveway usually calls for 4 to 6 inches. For a more precise amount, try the free gravel calculator. Enter the project dimensions, including its length, width, and depth, to see how many tons to order.

Question 2

What quantity can I order?

Accepted Answer

Order a single ton for a patio or garden path, or choose multi-ton loads for driveway and construction work. Coverage is roughly 100 square feet per ton when spread 2-inch deep. To estimate your project quantity, try the material calculator or call (302) 406-2968 for assistance.

Question 3

How does gravel arrive?

Accepted Answer

A dump truck brings each order to your property and releases the material in an accessible location you identify, such as a driveway or yard. The truck backs to the drop spot, raises its bed, and leaves the aggregate in a pile. You can move the material with a rake or shovel, or use a skid steer for a larger area.

Question 4

Is it necessary to be home for delivery?

Accepted Answer

Delivery can usually be completed without someone being home. Before the scheduled date, identify the intended drop spot clearly with cones, flags, or stakes. The driver may call if the property cannot be accessed or the placement area is not clear. Share any site-access concerns or special drop instructions when submitting the order so they can be coordinated with the driver.

Question 5

When will delivery arrive?

Accepted Answer

Depending on product availability and location, many orders arrive in as fast as 2 business days. Delivery may be sooner near larger population areas, while rural or remote addresses can require slightly more time. After ordering, an email confirmation will provide an estimated delivery window. For material needed by a particular date, contact us ahead of time to discuss your schedule.

Question 6

Which gravel should I use for a driveway?

Accepted Answer

A driveway base commonly uses crusher run, also called dense grade aggregate, or crushed stone. Their rough, angular pieces compact together to form a stable surface for vehicles. Common driveway options are 3/4-inch crushed stone and 1/2-inch crusher run. Do not use smooth, rounded pea gravel for a driveway, since tires can move it and it does not compact as effectively. View the product catalog for materials offered in your area.

Question 7

How do pea gravel and crushed stone differ?

Accepted Answer

Small, smooth, naturally rounded stones make up pea gravel, usually measuring 1/4 to 1/2 inch across. Its comfortable surface and decorative look suit garden beds, dog runs, walkways, and landscape areas. Crushed stone is made by mechanically breaking larger rock, creating angular edges. Those edges compact and lock together, making crushed stone more appropriate for foundations, drainage, driveways, and other structural uses. Choose crushed stone where the material must remain stable and carry weight. Pea gravel fits decorative spaces and low-traffic locations.

Question 8

Can you deliver to my address?

Accepted Answer

Delivery service extends across Delaware, covering major metro areas, suburbs, and many rural addresses. Enter your delivery address during checkout to see if service is available there. For a remote location where coverage is uncertain, call (302) 406-2968 and ask about availability.

Question 9

What happens if I buy too much or too little gravel?

Accepted Answer

Extra material stays at your property if more is ordered than needed, as delivered aggregate cannot be picked up. It can be used later for low areas, garden edging, or refreshing walkways. If the order falls short, place a new order for another delivery. Use the gravel calculator before ordering to reduce either outcome. Ordering about 10% above the calculated quantity can allow for uneven ground and compaction.

Question 10

May I combine products in one order?

Accepted Answer

Orders are currently limited to one product type each. Since dump trucks carry the material for delivery, separate products cannot be combined during transport. If a project needs more than one material, such as a driveway base of crushed stone and pea gravel for a walkway, place a separate order for each product. Free delivery applies to every order, so multiple deliveries do not add cost.

Question 11

How are prices set?

Accepted Answer

The material selected, order quantity, and delivery address determine pricing, so prices can differ by region. Website pricing reflects the price shown for the order.

Question 12

Which payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Major debit and credit cards are accepted for online purchases: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payment is handled through an encrypted checkout system. Online orders cannot be paid by cash, check, or purchase order. For payment arrangements on a large commercial order, contact (302) 406-2968 to review the options.

Question 13

What are the refund rules?

Accepted Answer

Orders canceled before they are dispatched for delivery can receive a full refund. Bulk aggregate generally cannot be refunded after it has been loaded for delivery or placed on your property, since it cannot be returned. For an incorrect material or a significant shortage, contact us promptly at (302) 406-2968. Read the complete terms on our refund policy page.

Question 14

How can I figure gravel quantity for a project?

Accepted Answer

First measure the desired depth along with the area's length and width. Multiply the measurements to find cubic feet, then divide by 27 for cubic yards. Gravel weighs approximately 1.4 tons per cubic yard, so multiply the cubic-yard total by 1.4 to determine tonnage. To avoid doing the calculations yourself, use the free gravel calculator. Enter the measurements to view the tons needed and the cost.

Question 15

Which gravel sizes are available?

Accepted Answer

Gravel sizes are usually identified by stone diameter. Available sizes commonly include 1/4-inch (pea gravel), 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, 1-inch, 1-1/2 inch, and 2-inch stone. Pea gravel and other smaller material work well for decorative areas, patios, and walkways. A medium option such as 3/4-inch crushed stone is often used for general landscaping, parking areas, and driveways. For erosion control, French drains, and drainage work, larger 1-1/2 inch and 2-inch stone are often used. Check the product page for materials and sizes available for delivery in your area.
