For a beach-house driveway, the sandy ground may drain quickly, but a high water table can still shape the site plan. Mason Sand is not a substitute for a drainage path or support layer. Its washed, smooth texture is better suited to mortar, stucco, grout, and the finish portion of paver work. Masonry crews can use it in mixes that need to spread evenly during placement.
After the base below an interlocking paver surface is ready, spread Mason Sand as the leveling material beneath the pavers, then use it for joint filling. This keeps the setting work distinct from the load-bearing work that clay-over-rock ground may require near the Brandywine Valley. The material can also create a soft surface in play spaces or volleyball areas. That separation matters when site conditions vary from coastal sand to firmer inland ground across Delaware.

Common Uses
Mortar & Stucco Mixing
For masonry mortar, grout, or stucco, use mason sand as the fine aggregate. Its uniform small grains help the mix spread evenly, stay workable, and form a solid bond.
Paver Installation
For interlocking pavers, spread mason sand as the bedding course and brush it down into the joints. The fine grade settles into the gaps and leaves a flat layer under the pavers.
Sandboxes & Play Areas
Mason sand is washed and fine-textured for children's sandboxes and play areas. It has a soft feel under hands and feet, without coarse, sharp pieces.
Volleyball Courts & Recreation
Mason sand can be used for volleyball court surfacing. It creates an even, soft surface for barefoot recreation and impact during play.
Why Choose Mason Sand
Ultra-Fine, Smooth Texture
The small, washed grains in mason sand create a smooth, uniform material. It is comfortable to handle and suitable for mortar mixes and finish applications.
Washed & Impurity-Free
Mason sand is washed to clear out clay, silt, and organic debris. This helps mortar adhere well and keeps recreation surfaces clean.
Even Grain Size
Mason sand is graded for a uniform particle size. That helps with mortar, leveling work, and recreation surfaces from one project to the next.
Safe for Recreation
With its soft feel and clean composition, mason sand works for sandboxes, playgrounds, and sports courts. It gives play areas a gentle, clean surface.
